Eén exemplaar van dit mooie klokje, staat dapper in de tuin te bloeien. Het klokvormige bloempje houdt al weken stand, ondanks de extreem koude weersomstandigheden, waar dit voorjaar nu al om bekend staat . In de tuin staat de plant onder de rode beuk tegen de westkant van de stam.
Het lenteklokje is ingeburgerd in Frankrijk, Engeland en Ierland.
In Nederland is de plant zeldzaam en wordt in het bestaan bedreigd.
Groeit bij voorkeur op voedselrijke, koele bodems in loofbossen, vochtige, niet al te natte weilanden. Vermeerdering door bollen. Bloeitijd maart/april. Giftig.

A copy of this beautiful clock, stands bravely in the garden to bloom. The bell-shaped flower keeps for weeks, despite the extremely cold weather, where this spring is already known for. In the garden, the plant is under the red beech, to the west side of the trunk.
The Spring Snowflake is established in France, England and Ireland.
In the Netherlands, the plant is rare and is in existence threatened.
Preferably grows on nutrient-rich, cool soils in deciduous forests, moist, not too wet meadows. Propagation by bulbs. Flowering Time March / April. Toxic.
