Night of Night moths (rural) on Friday, September 6th in the Bee Garden. This started at 21.30h. and ended at 24:00. The evening was organized by the Working Group of Insects KNNV-dept. Epe. Including IVN IVN-ers-ers.15 people were present, partially or during the whole event. There were white sheets stretched in the garden and strong lights placed where the moths gradually came to off. From the sheets, they were caught with magnifier boxes in order to be identified. In this way, there are 19 different types counted, a number of several, including the Light Emerald (Campaea margaritata). This probably has to do with the time of flight. It was fun to watch it. I did not know there were existing so many in the garden . A total of 800 species live in the Netherlands. Report by Emma.
